How Do I Get A Pre-Approved Mortgage Loan With Bad Credit?
Having a good credit score is extremely important if you want to be approved for a mortgage. Without it you will have a difficult time obtaining a mortgage or getting an affordable interest rate. Luckily, there are several ways you can improve your chances of getting a pre-approved mortgage loan even if you have a bad credit.
Take Higher Rate
The first way that you can get a pre-approved mortgage loan if you have bad credit is to take a higher rate on your mortgage. While most mortgage lenders prefer to only lend to people with good credit, they are still willing to give loans to people with bad credit if they are able to charge a much higher rate. By accepting a higher rate, a credit risk has a much better chance of being approved.
Put Forth More Equity
The second way that you can get a pre-approved mortgage loan if you have bad credit is to pur forth more equity into the purchase. To get a mortgage people with good credit could put down 10% or less into the purchase price. However, those that are credit risks may need to put forth even more. By putting up 20% or more, a person with bad credit has a much better chance of being approved.
Co-Signor
The third way that you can get a pre-approved mortgage loan if you have bad credit is to have a co-signor sign the loan with you. If you have someone sign the loan along with you the bank will be far less concerned with your credit and will be more concerned with the co-signors.
